Dániel D. Kovács
started theatre direction studies in 2010 at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest in the class led by Gábor Székely and Viktor Bodó. He has been member of the Radical Freetime Theatre since 2007 and Fantommajmok since 2009. He participated in several workshops, e.g. of Physical Theatre led by Ferenc Fehér, Puppetry led by László Rumi, Noh Theatre led by Hiroyasu Sasaki. His successful stage directions include NCK (based on Strawberry Fields by Stephen Poliakoff); Demon Variations (based on Noh dramas). His directions at the University of Theatre and Film Arts include Sugar Kreml by Vladimir Sorokin (end-of-course performance, Viktor Bodó’s course); Hamlet by William Shakespeare (end-of-course performance, Sándor Zsótér’s course); Dessert (vignettes within the frame of Gábor Székely’s course); V (scenes based on the University’s organizational and operational rules, Viktor Bodó’s course), A Versailles Improvisation by Molière (end-of-course performance, Gábor Székely’s course) and Woyzeck by Georg Büchner (end-of-course performance in cooperation with Fantommajmok).
